I travel quite a lot for my work and so usually end up having dinner all alone in cafes. I often take a book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in DENVER CO where I ate at New China Cafe and I saw an interesting article on bamboo. I had no idea you can make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a excellent option for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and bought some items of clothing.

I should say I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I think is incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.

You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic clothing stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.

After a little more research I found some amazing details on bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs little water during the time it grows so they can survive droughts.

I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find some information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
