I travel a lot for my work and so regularly end up having my dinner all alone in local restaurants. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in DENVER CO where I ate at Seventh Avenue Street Caffe and I saw an interesting article to do with bamboo clothes. I did not know you could make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a excellent choice for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and got some basic items of clothing.

I have to say I was extremely impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was great. I also noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.

After a bit more research I found out some interesting details on bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Also bamboo requires very little water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make eco-friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of details on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
