I move around a lot for my job and so regularly end up having dinner alone in restaurants. I often take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in DENHAM SPRINGS LA where I ate at Sharp's Bakery and I read a really interesting piece to do with bamboo. I had no idea you could make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a good option for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and bought a few pieces of clothing.
I have to tell you I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry when I removed it from the washing machine which I thought was incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.
After a bit more research I discovered some other incredible facts to do with bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs little water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.
I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find some articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
