I travel quite a lot for my job and so often end up having my dinner by myself in restaurants. I often take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in DEER LODGE MT where I ate at Broken Arrow Casino & Steak House and I read an interesting piece on bamboo. I had no idea you could make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a great option for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and purchased a few items of clothing.

I have to admit I was very impressed. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I think is amazing. I also noticed is that it did not necessarily need ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.

After some more research I found out some other interesting details about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find more information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
