I move around a lot for my studies and so often end up eating by myself in local restaurants. I often take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in DEER ISLE ME where I ate at Island Star Cafe and I read a new cover story to do with bamboo clothing. I did not know you are able to make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a excellent option for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I went online and bought a couple items of clothing.
I should tell you I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was amazing. I also noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.
Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothes stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After a little more research I found out some other incredible details on bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely quickly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs very little water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
