I travel quite a lot for my studies and so regularly end up having my dinner alone in restaurants. I usually take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in DEDHAM MA where I ate at Irish Alehouse and I came across a new article on bamboo. I did not realise you can make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent which means it is a good choice for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and bought a couple basic items of clothing.

I must admit I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry when I took it from the washing machine which I thought was great. I also noticed is that it did not necessarily need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I hate doing ironing.

Find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothing stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.

After some more research I discovered some other amazing facts to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires little water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
