I travel quite a lot for my work and so regularly end up having my dinner alone in local restaurants. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in DE PERE WI where I ate at Nicky's Lionhead Taverns and I saw a new article on bamboo. I did not know you are able to make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a good option for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and purchased some items of clothing.
I must say I was extremely impressed. The fabric really is soft, not unlike silk. It was close to being dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I think is incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate ironing.
Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic apparel stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.
After some more research I found out some amazing pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires very little water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of details on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
