I travel a lot for my studies and so regularly end up eating by myself in cafes. I often take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in DAVIS OK where I ate at Babes Hot Tamales and I saw a really interesting article on bamboo clothing. I did not realise you can make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a good option for gym gear or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and got a few items of clothing.

I must admit I was very impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry after I took it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. I also noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.

After a little more research I discovered some more incredible facts to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the growth period meaning they can survive droughts.

I try to make eco-friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find some articles on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
