I move around a lot for my work and so usually end up having my dinner alone in restaurants. I usually take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Recently, I was in DAVIS CA where I ate at Graduate and I read a new cover story to do with bamboo clothes. I had no idea you could make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a great choice for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and got a few items of clothing.
I have to admit I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry after I took it from the washing machine which I think is amazing. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.
Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic apparel stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After some more research I found out some other interesting facts to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires only a small amount of water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, socks, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find more information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
