I travel a lot for my job and so usually end up having my dinner all alone in cafes. I usually take a good book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in DANBURY CT where I ate at Atasquinha and I saw a really interesting piece to do with bamboo clothing. I had no idea you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a great possibility for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and bought a few pieces of clothing.
I must say I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I took it from the washing machine which I found to be amazing. I also noticed is that it did not necessarily need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate ironing.
After a little more research I found out some other interesting details on bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo needs little water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find some information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
