I move around a lot for my job and so regularly end up eating by myself in restaurants. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in CROMWELL CT where I ate at J T'S Roadhouse Grill and I read a really interesting cover story about bamboo clothing. I did not realise you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo clothing is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a great possibility for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by these claims so I had to find out for myself. I went online and bought a couple pieces of clothing.
I should tell you I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was close to being dry when I took it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.
Find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic clothing stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.
After a little more research I found some other interesting facts about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires very little water during the time it grows meaning they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, underwear, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find some information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
