I travel a lot for my job and so regularly end up eating by myself in cafes. I often take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in CRANBURY NJ where I ate at Cranbury Golf Course and I came across an interesting article to do with bamboo clothing. I had no idea you could make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a great choice for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by these claims so I had to find out for myself. I went online and bought some pieces of clothing.
I should tell you I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, not unlike silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I think is amazing. I also noticed is that it did not necessarily need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.
After some more research I discovered some amazing details to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely quickly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo requires very little water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco-friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find more articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
