I travel quite a lot for my job and so often end up having dinner all alone in cafes. I often take a good book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Recently, I was in CORONA NY where I ate at PAPI Deli & Grocery and I read an interesting article to do with bamboo clothing. I had no idea you can make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a excellent choice for gym gear or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and purchased a couple pieces of clothing.
I should tell you I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I found to be great. I also noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate ironing.
After some more research I found some more interesting facts to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo needs very little water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find more details on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
