I move around a lot for my job and so usually end up having dinner alone in cafes. I often take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in CORNELIA GA where I ate at Waffle House 1267 and I came across an interesting cover story to do with bamboo. I did not realise you can make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a excellent possibility for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was interested by these claims so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and got a couple basic items of clothing.

I have to say I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric absolutely is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry when I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.

After some more research I found some more amazing pieces of information on bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find some articles on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
