I move around a lot for my work and so usually end up having dinner alone in restaurants. I usually take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in CORINTH MS where I ate at Shrimp Boat Seafood & Barbeque Cafe and I read an interesting piece to do with bamboo clothing. I had no idea you could make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a great option for gym gear or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and purchased some pieces of clothing.

I have to tell you I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry when I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.

After a little more research I discovered some amazing facts about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.

I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.
