I move around a lot for my job and so often end up having dinner alone in cafes. I often take a novel or magazine with me to prevent boredom. The other day, I was in COOS BAY OR where I ate at Little Richards and I saw an interesting piece on bamboo clothing. I did not know you can make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a excellent possibility for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and bought a couple items of clothing.
I have to tell you I was extremely impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be incredible. I also noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothing stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.
After a bit more research I found out some other interesting facts to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires only a small amount of water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
