I travel quite a lot for my studies and so regularly end up having dinner by myself in cafes. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to prevent boredom. The other day, I was in CONIFER CO where I ate at Coney Island and I saw a really interesting cover story on bamboo. I had no idea you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent which means it is a good option for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and bought a couple items of clothing.

I have to tell you I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I think is incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.

After some more research I discovered some more interesting pieces of information about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the time it grows so they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of details on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
