I move around a lot for my work and so regularly end up eating all alone in local restaurants. I usually take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in CONCORD MA where I ate at Club Car Cafe and I read an interesting article on bamboo. I did not realise you can make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a good possibility for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I looked online and got a couple items of clothing.

I have to admit I was very impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be amazing. I also noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.

You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic apparel stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.

After a bit more research I discovered some more interesting pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Also bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.

I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find some details on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
