I move around a lot for my studies and so regularly end up having dinner all alone in cafes. I like to take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in COLUMBUS NC where I ate at Brick Pizziaria Cafe and I saw a really interesting article on bamboo. I did not know you are able to make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a great option for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I looked online and got a couple items of clothing.

I have to admit I was very impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry when I removed it from the washing machine which I think is great. I also noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.

After a bit more research I discovered some more amazing pieces of information about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows very fast which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires only a small amount of water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find more information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
