I travel quite a lot for my job and so regularly end up having dinner alone in restaurants. I often take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in COLLEGE PARK MD where I ate at Kerri Gourmet Carry Out & Delivery and I read an interesting article about bamboo clothes. I did not know you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent so it is a good option for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by this article so I had to find out for myself. I went online and bought a few pieces of clothing.

I have to admit I was very impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I found to be great. I also noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is what I look for as I hate doing ironing.

After some more research I discovered some more incredible details on bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo requires little water during the time it grows meaning they can survive droughts.

I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find some articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
