I travel quite a lot for my studies and so usually end up having my dinner alone in restaurants. I like to take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in COLLEGE GROVE TN where I ate at Country Market & Deli and I came across a new cover story on bamboo clothes. I had no idea you could make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo clothing is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a great option for gym gear or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and bought a couple items of clothing.

I should tell you I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry after I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate ironing.

After a little more research I found some incredible details about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the time it grows so they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
