I travel quite a lot for my work and so usually end up eating alone in cafes. I usually take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in COAHOMA TX where I ate at Dairy Queen of Coahoma and I saw a really interesting article on bamboo clothing. I did not realise you could make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a excellent choice for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and got some items of clothing.
I have to say I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry when I removed it from the washing machine which I thought was great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.
After a bit more research I discovered some more interesting facts about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Also bamboo uses very little water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.
I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, socks, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of details on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
