I travel quite a lot for my studies and so usually end up eating alone in cafes. I often take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in CLEVELAND OH where I ate at Kentucky Fried Chicken - South Euclid and I came across a really interesting piece on bamboo. I did not realise you could make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent which means it is a good choice for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and got a few pieces of clothing.
I have to say I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I found to be great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothes stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After a little more research I found some amazing details about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo requires only a small amount of water during the time it grows meaning they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, socks, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find some details on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
