I travel a lot for my work and so usually end up having dinner all alone in restaurants. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in CLEVELAND OH where I ate at Kolumax Inc and I read a new piece about bamboo clothing. I did not realise you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent so it is a excellent option for gym gear or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and purchased a couple basic items of clothing.
I have to tell you I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is what I look for as I hate doing ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic apparel stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.
After some more research I discovered some incredible pieces of information about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo needs little water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.
I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find some details on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
