I travel a lot for my studies and so usually end up having dinner all alone in local restaurants. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in CLEARWATER FL where I ate at Florida Subs & Gyros and I read a really interesting piece about bamboo clothing. I did not realise you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a good possibility for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I looked online and got a few items of clothing.

I must tell you I was extremely impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was incredible. I also noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.

After a little more research I discovered some other interesting pieces of information on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the time it grows meaning they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find more information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
