I travel a lot for my work and so often end up having my dinner all alone in restaurants. I usually take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in CLAYTON IL where I ate at D JS Country Inn and I read a really interesting article on bamboo. I did not know you can make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent so it is a great option for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and purchased a few items of clothing.

I have to admit I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.

After a little more research I found some interesting facts on bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires very little water during the time it grows so they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, socks, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find more articles on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
