I travel a lot for my studies and so regularly end up having dinner all alone in local restaurants. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in CLACKAMAS OR where I ate at New Ole Medium Rare Restaurant and I came across an interesting article about bamboo clothes. I had no idea you could make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent which means it is a good possibility for gym gear or even as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and purchased a couple pieces of clothing.

I must tell you I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry when I took it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. I also noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.

After a little more research I found out some other amazing facts to do with bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo uses very little water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find more articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
