I move around a lot for my job and so regularly end up eating by myself in restaurants. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in City State where I ate at Name and I saw a new article on bamboo clothes. I did not know you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a excellent possibility for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and bought a few pieces of clothing.
I should say I was extremely impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry when I removed it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic clothing stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After a little more research I discovered some more interesting pieces of information about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires very little water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.
I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
