I travel quite a lot for my work and so regularly end up having dinner by myself in local restaurants. I usually take a good book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. The other day, I was in City State where I ate at Name and I saw an interesting cover story on bamboo. I did not know you could make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a great possibility for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out for myself. I went online and got a couple basic items of clothing.

I have to admit I was extremely impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.

You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic clothes stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.

After a little more research I found out some other incredible facts to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires little water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find some details on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
