I travel quite a lot for my job and so often end up having my dinner all alone in restaurants. I often take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Recently, I was in CHICOPEE MA where I ate at Comedy Connection and I saw a new cover story on bamboo clothes. I had no idea you could make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a good option for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and bought a couple basic items of clothing.

I should tell you I was very impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry as soon as I took it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. I also noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.

After some more research I found some other incredible facts to do with bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as sheets, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find some articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
