I travel a lot for my work and so often end up having my dinner by myself in cafes. I often take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in CHICAGO HEIGHTS IL where I ate at Angelita Tacos & Grocery and I saw a new cover story to do with bamboo clothing. I did not realise you can make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent which means it is a great possibility for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I went online and got a couple pieces of clothing.
I must say I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I thought was incredible. I also noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After a little more research I found out some more amazing facts about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.
I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find some information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
