I travel quite a lot for my studies and so regularly end up having my dinner by myself in cafes. I usually take a good book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Recently, I was in CHICAGO IL where I ate at Market Street Tavern Inn and I read a new article on bamboo clothing. I did not know you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a excellent possibility for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I went online and got a couple basic items of clothing.
I must tell you I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry after I removed it from the washing machine which I think is amazing. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.
After a bit more research I discovered some interesting pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Also bamboo needs little water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find some articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
