I travel quite a lot for my work and so often end up eating all alone in cafes. I often take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in CHICAGO IL where I ate at Susie China and I came across a new piece about bamboo. I did not realise you can make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a good possibility for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and got some basic items of clothing.
I have to tell you I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry after I removed it from the washing machine which I thought was great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic clothes stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.
After some more research I found some amazing details about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo uses little water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
