I travel a lot for my work and so usually end up eating by myself in restaurants. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in CHICAGO IL where I ate at Hubs Restaurant & Carry Outs and I came across a really interesting piece about bamboo clothing. I had no idea you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a excellent option for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out if it was true. I looked online and purchased a few basic items of clothing.
I must say I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I think is great. I also noticed is that it did not necessarily need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothes stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.
After a little more research I discovered some more interesting facts to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires only a small amount of water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco-friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as sheets, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
