I move around a lot for my work and so usually end up having my dinner alone in restaurants. I like to take a book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in CHICAGO IL where I ate at Taco & Burrito Place and I came across a really interesting cover story about bamboo clothing. I did not realise you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a excellent option for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I went online and got some basic items of clothing.

I have to say I was very impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry after I took it from the washing machine which I thought was great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.

After some more research I found some incredible details to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses very little water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find some details on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
