I travel quite a lot for my job and so often end up having my dinner all alone in local restaurants. I often take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in CHICAGO IL where I ate at Thai Pastry Restuarant and I saw an interesting cover story on bamboo clothes. I had no idea you can make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent which means it is a great choice for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out if it was true. I looked online and purchased a few items of clothing.

I should tell you I was extremely impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry when I removed it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.

Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic clothing stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.

After some more research I found out some more interesting pieces of information on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo requires only a small amount of water during the time it grows so they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, underwear, rugs, and baby clothes.
