I travel a lot for my studies and so often end up having dinner by myself in restaurants. I usually take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in CHICAGO IL where I ate at Goodfellas Snack Shop and I read a new piece to do with bamboo clothing. I did not know you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a excellent choice for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and purchased a couple basic items of clothing.
I must admit I was very impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry when I took it from the washing machine which I found to be amazing. I also noticed is that it did not necessarily need much ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic clothes stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After a little more research I found some more interesting facts on bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires only a small amount of water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
