I travel quite a lot for my work and so often end up having my dinner by myself in restaurants. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in CHICAGO IL where I ate at Bob's Bar-B-Q and I read a new piece on bamboo clothing. I did not realise you could make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent which means it is a excellent choice for gym gear or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and got a couple pieces of clothing.
I have to say I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry when I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After some more research I found out some other incredible details about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires little water during the growth period meaning they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find more information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
