I travel quite a lot for my studies and so often end up having dinner alone in local restaurants. I like to take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in CHICAGO IL where I ate at Wing Hoe Restaurant and I saw an interesting cover story on bamboo clothes. I did not know you can make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a good option for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I looked online and bought some items of clothing.

I must admit I was very impressed. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry after I took it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.

Find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothing stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.

After some more research I found out some other interesting details on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely quickly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the time it grows so they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
