I travel a lot for my job and so often end up having my dinner by myself in local restaurants. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in CHICAGO IL where I ate at Fish & More and I saw a really interesting cover story about bamboo clothes. I did not know you can make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a good possibility for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and bought a few pieces of clothing.
I must say I was extremely impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I found to be incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After some more research I found out some interesting pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very fast which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires little water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco-friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, underwear, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find more articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
