I move around a lot for my studies and so regularly end up having my dinner all alone in restaurants. I often take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Recently, I was in CHICAGO IL where I ate at Zzix Restaurant and I read a really interesting cover story on bamboo clothes. I did not realise you can make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a excellent possibility for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and bought a few items of clothing.

I have to admit I was very impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry after I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be incredible. I also noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.

After some more research I found out some other interesting facts to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses little water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.
