I travel a lot for my studies and so usually end up having dinner all alone in restaurants. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in CHICAGO IL where I ate at MOOL NA LA and I read a really interesting article about bamboo clothing. I did not know you can make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a great choice for gym gear or even as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and purchased a few basic items of clothing.

I must say I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry after I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.

After a little more research I found out some other incredible facts about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo needs very little water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.

I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, socks, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
