I move around a lot for my studies and so regularly end up having dinner by myself in restaurants. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in CHICAGO IL where I ate at Viceroy of India and I came across an interesting article about bamboo clothes. I had no idea you can make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent so it is a excellent possibility for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and got a few items of clothing.

I have to say I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was amazing. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.

After some more research I found out some other incredible facts to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Also bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
