I travel quite a lot for my studies and so usually end up eating by myself in cafes. I like to take a book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in CHICAGO IL where I ate at Vicky's Hot Dogs and I saw an interesting cover story to do with bamboo clothes. I did not know you can make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a excellent option for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out for myself. I went online and got a couple basic items of clothing.

I should say I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry after I took it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.

After a little more research I found some interesting details to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Also bamboo needs little water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find some details on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
