I travel a lot for my job and so often end up eating all alone in restaurants. I often take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Recently, I was in CHESTERFIELD MO where I ate at Italiano's Restaurant and I saw a really interesting piece to do with bamboo clothes. I did not realise you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a good option for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and got a few items of clothing.
I must admit I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry after I removed it from the washing machine which I think is great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.
After a bit more research I found some incredible details about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires little water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
