I travel a lot for my job and so usually end up having my dinner alone in restaurants. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in CHESAPEAKE VA where I ate at Ridley's Rapheal's Restaurant & Lounge and I read an interesting article about bamboo clothing. I did not realise you could make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a great option for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and purchased a few pieces of clothing.
I have to tell you I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I took it from the washing machine which I think is great. I also noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is what I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After a bit more research I discovered some incredible facts to do with bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo uses little water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find more articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
