I travel quite a lot for my work and so often end up having my dinner all alone in local restaurants. I like to take a good book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in CHATTANOOGA TN where I ate at Hardee's - Browns Ferry and I saw a really interesting cover story about bamboo. I did not realise you could make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a great possibility for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I went online and purchased a few basic items of clothing.
I should say I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I think is great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After a little more research I found out some more incredible details to do with bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Also bamboo requires little water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find more information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
