I move around a lot for my studies and so regularly end up having dinner all alone in cafes. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in CHARLESTON IL where I ate at Chubbys Pizza and I came across a new cover story to do with bamboo. I did not realise you are able to make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a great choice for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by these claims so I had to find out for myself. I went online and got a few pieces of clothing.
I must admit I was very impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.
Find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic clothing stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.
After some more research I found out some interesting facts about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the growth period meaning they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco-friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find more details on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
