I move around a lot for my work and so regularly end up having dinner all alone in local restaurants. I usually take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Recently, I was in CHARLEROI PA where I ate at Speer Street Grill and I saw an interesting cover story on bamboo clothes. I had no idea you can make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a excellent possibility for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and bought a couple basic items of clothing.
I should say I was very impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry when I took it from the washing machine which I thought was great. I also noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After a bit more research I found out some other interesting facts to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the time it grows meaning they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find more articles on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
