I travel a lot for my job and so regularly end up having dinner alone in local restaurants. I usually take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in CHAPIN SC where I ate at Fat Buddies Two and I saw an interesting article about bamboo clothing. I did not know you could make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent which means it is a great choice for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and purchased a few items of clothing.
I have to admit I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I found to be great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After a bit more research I found some more incredible facts to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo uses little water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, underwear, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of details on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
